Performing checks only at the end of a shift, only during annual evaluations, or every hour during operations could lead to missed inspections or the discovery of equipment problems only after they have been needed in the field. These latter practices do not prioritize the readiness and safety of the team as effectively as performing checks at the start of each shift.
